What is the current lead time?

Production runs to approximately 16 weeks from receipt of your 70% deposit and signed shop drawings. The official lead time band is 14–20 weeks — please confirm the current lead time with our team when you place your order, as it varies with production capacity and profile system.

What are your payment terms?

Accepted Answer

A 70% deposit is required to commence production of your custom Eurosteel doors or windows. The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to shipment from our manufacturing facility. Once your order is complete, our accounts team will send final images along with the outstanding invoice — you have 7 days to settle the balance. Goods will not be released for installation, delivery or collection until payment is received in cleared funds.

How much does a steel window or door cost?

Every Eurosteel project is quoted individually because pricing depends on profile (W20, W40, W50TB, W75TB, ALES65), size, glazing build-up, colour and hardware. Send us your drawings or dimensions and we'll come back with a firm number within a few working days.

Question 4

Can I cancel or change my order?

Accepted Answer

You have a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of deposit payment. If you cancel after the cooling-off period but before production begins, an administration fee of $1,500 + GST (or 5% of the total order value, whichever is greater) will be deducted from your deposit refund. Once shop drawings are signed off and manufacturing has commenced, no refunds are permitted and the full balance is payable on completion.

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes. We deliver throughout the North and South Island. Delivery is made to the front of the site only, in a safe, flat location — drivers do not place crates into garages, laneways or other internal site areas. You must be present at delivery or provide written authority to leave the crates. Missed delivery windows or redelivery attempts incur additional freight charges. For rural or outlying addresses, contact us directly for a freight estimate.

Question 6

What's the difference between W20, W40, W50TB and W75TB?

W20 is our slimmest 20mm single-glazed steel profile, ideal for internal partitions and heritage restorations. W40 is a 40mm cold-formed steel profile that accepts double glazing for external use. W50TB is a 50mm thermally-broken steel profile with a polyamide barrier — steel look, better thermal performance. W75TB Inox is the flagship 75mm thermally-broken stainless-steel profile engineered for large-format doors, façades and marine environments.

What is ALES65 and how is it different?

ALES65 is a thermally-broken aluminium profile engineered with a true steel-look sight-line. It's the everyday choice for full-house glazing where you want the razor-thin aesthetic of steel with the price, weight and thermal performance of a modern aluminium system.

What are the maximum sizes I can order?

Accepted Answer

Fixed panels go up to 5500 × 5500mm across every profile. Swing doors reach 1200 × 3600mm in Iron Door and Slim Line Tube Steel, and 900 × 2450mm in W20, W40 and MTS50. Pivot and Barn doors run to 1800 × 3600mm. Lift & Slide and Bifolding systems max out at 1200 × 3000mm and 1200 × 2450mm respectively. See the full size limitations table on the Products page.

Can I have double or triple glazing?

Yes. W40, W50TB, W75TB and ALES65 all accept double-glazed units. Triple-glazing, Low-E, acoustic laminates and reeded / frosted decorative glass are available on request.

Question 10

Are steel windows suitable for coastal sites?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but the finish specification matters. All Eurosteel products are hot-dip galvanised, primed with a zinc-based coating and painted with a high-performance fluorocarbon finish for superior corrosion resistance. For coastal sites we recommend the W75TB Inox stainless profile for aggressive marine exposure, and a quarterly fresh-water rinse-down to keep the finish warranty valid.

Can I customise the colour?

Absolutely. Our standard palette includes Black, White, Flaxpod, Electro Dark Bronze and Desert Sand. You can also specify any Dulux powder-coat colour, or send us a hex code for a bespoke match.

Question 12

Should I expect a perfect factory finish?

Accepted Answer

Every Eurosteel product is handcrafted from steel, and minor cosmetic imperfections in steelwork, welds or paint finish are to be expected and fall within acceptable tolerance levels. If a minor fault is identified inside our defined tolerance, we'll offer a free repair or an appropriate remedy.

Where are Eurosteel products made?

Accepted Answer

Every Eurosteel product is designed and engineered in New Zealand. Profiles reference the Swiss Ottostumm | Mogs FerroFinestra system, hardware is sourced from established UK and German manufacturers, and final assembly is carried out in China by tested and accredited fabrication partners under our engineering supervision.

Question 14

Do you supply-only or install as well?

Accepted Answer

Both. Eurosteel offers professional installation through our network of experienced installers — if you choose our installation option, we coordinate the schedule, site access and post-install support. If you'd rather use your own installer or builder, Eurosteel takes no responsibility for incorrect installation, site measurements or damages resulting from third-party work. It is essential your installer reviews the final signed-off shop drawings before starting work.

Question 15

Who is responsible for site measurements?

Accepted Answer

All orders are manufactured to the dimensions you or your builder provide, down to the millimetre. It is your responsibility to confirm these measurements with a qualified New Zealand professional prior to ordering. Eurosteel is not liable for any incorrect measurements provided at time of order — we strongly recommend a qualified installer verifies every dimension before drawings are signed off.

Question 16

What do I need to check when the crates arrive?

Accepted Answer

Before unpacking and installing, inspect every item while still in its original packaging. If any damage or defects are found, photograph them immediately. Claims made after installation, or without supporting images taken at the time of unpacking, will not be accepted. Crates must be kept dry and covered on-site to preserve product condition and maintain warranty eligibility.

Question 17

What preparation do I need to do on-site?

Accepted Answer

Openings must be complete, square, plumb and sized to our approved shop drawings. Safe, unobstructed access and adequate lay-down space are required on the day of installation, and the site must be ready to receive the goods as Eurosteel does not offer storage services.

Question 18

What warranty do I get?

Accepted Answer

5 years from the date of delivery on manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship, in line with our Limited Warranty. If a product or part is found to be defective due to a manufacturing fault, we will repair it — or replace it if it cannot be repaired to our standards. Your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 are not affected.

What is NOT covered under warranty?

Incorrect installation not in accordance with Eurosteel's guidelines; general wear and tear; damage caused by misuse, poor maintenance, trades, mishandling or on-site accidents; paint or rusting from prolonged water or direct sun exposure without adequate overhead protection (at least 1–1.5m of eave cover); water ingress where sheltering is inadequate; and any tampering or modification without Eurosteel's written approval.

How do I clean and care for my steel windows?

Accepted Answer

Wipe the frames every three months with warm water and a soft cloth. Lubricate hardware annually with a light dry PTFE spray. Avoid ammonia, bleach, solvents or high-pressure cleaners — they will damage the fluorocarbon powder-coat finish and void the warranty.
